Writing Tier Perks: The File Test
A perk is either verifiable or it doesn't exist. Simple test: can you deliver it by email with no discussion needed?
"Access to the community," "support for the project," "my eternal gratitude": three phrases you read everywhere, and none of them trigger a single payment.
The file test
A good perk can be delivered. Ask yourself: if a member asked me for this perk right now, would I know exactly what to send them? If the answer is no, it's not a perk, it's an intention.
